Job Summary

We are looking for a reliable and safety-focused Truck Driver / Poultry Transport Operator to join our team at Annyalla Chicks. In this role, you will be responsible for the safe and efficient transportation of day-old chicks and poultry-related products between hatcheries, farms and customer locations while ensuring the highest standards of animal welfare, hygiene and biosecurity are always maintained.

This is an excellent opportunity for someone with professional driving experience who wants to build a long-term career within the poultry and agricultural industry.

Key Responsibilities

·       Carry out daily vehicle checks and ensure vehicles are maintained in a clean and roadworthy condition

·       Safely transport day-old chicks and poultry products to farms and customer sites

·       Follow all animal welfare, transport and biosecurity procedures during loading, transport and unloading

·       Ensure all deliveries are completed accurately and on schedule

·       Complete transport paperwork and delivery documentation correctly

·       Maintain high hygiene standards inside vehicles and transport equipment

·       Communicate effectively with hatchery staff, farms and management teams

·       Adhere to all road safety legislation and company procedures

·       Support hatchery operations when required

What we look for

·       Valid Driver CPC qualification

·       Full clean Category C or CE driving licence

·       Digital Tachograph Card

·       Previous HGV/truck driving experience preferred

·       Good understanding of health & safety and biosecurity standards

·       Strong reliability and time management skills

·       Ability to work flexible hours, including early mornings when required

·       Calm and professional attitude when handling live poultry

·       Good communication and teamwork skills

·       Desirable (but not essential):

1.      Experience transporting live animals or agricultural products

2.      Knowledge of poultry industry standards and animal welfare regulations

3.      Manual handling training

4.      Forklift licence
