Job Summary

Annyalla Chicks is looking to appoint to assist the hatchery management team in the day-to-day running of the hatchery facility.  To ensure the welfare of day-old chicks whilst maintain the high standards of quality, hygiene, animal welfare and health and safety that are required.

Key Responsibilities

• Develop a full understanding of poultry at Annyalla Chicks  

• Assist with daily production needs, in particular chick production  

• Hygiene monitoring  

• Undertake various tasks within the hatchery; chick take off and chick grading  

• General cleaning and tidiness of all areas inside and outside the hatchery to ensure our high standards of biosecurity are adhered to at all times  

• Adhere to all codes of practice and bird welfare  

• Adhere to health and safety standards at all times  

• Undertake any other duties within the hatchery operation as and when required  

• Be responsible for own training and development to keep up to date with industry standards

Skills and Experience

• Flexible and hard working

• Enthusiastic and a positive attitude to teamwork

• Ability to work shifts (start times can range between 3am to 5am)

• Computer Literate

• Previous experience working within a production environment would be advantageous
